About Louise
Louise is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist, with over 15 years' experience, specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
She is the Lead Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for an NHS mental health service (CAMHS) in Brent, North West London.
She graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class Intercalated Medical degree, before returning to London to continue her training. She completed core psychiatric training at UCL and specialist child psychiatry training at the Tavistock, where she also completed a Master’s degree.
She has substantial experience working with young people, and their families, with a range of mental health difficulties, both emotional and neurodevelopmental.
In addition to her diagnostic and prescribing skills, Louise has specific therapeutic training in motivational interviewing, mentalisation based therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and systemic therapy.
She currently jointly leads on teaching junior psychiatrists about child mental health for her region. She has also worked at the Department of Health on mental health policy.
